This volume of Rumiko Takahashi's classic Ranma 1/2 was a good volume, but not a great one.The "Watermelon Island" story arc was funny, but really only an average story in the long run. The "Sauce of Ten Years" story arc is classic Takahashi hilarity and exemplifies not only the series as a whole, but the primary relationship between Ranma and Akane exceedingly well. The "Hot Springs" story was okay, and reintroduces Happosai to the series. The "Paper Dolls of Love" story was again an excellent example of the Ranma series, with its primary tenant that if magic is involved things are going to go sideways. Finally, the "Pill of Obedience" story was good, but nothing spectacular, just another Happosai comes around and causes problems story.All-in-all this was a good volume, with a good amount of time spent on some of the supporting cast: Kuno, Ukyo, Gosunkugi, and Happosai. So, if you are a fan of one of these supporting cast, then by all means you will want to pick up this volume.
